Quorthon was the stage name of Thomas Borje Forsberg, the Swedish musician best known as the founder and creative force behind Bathory. As songwriter, vocalist, guitarist, and multi-instrumentalist, he shaped a body of work that helped define black metal and later opened the path for Viking metal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Quorthon formed Bathory in 1983 while still a teenager.
