SCANDINAVIAN METAL ATTACK VOL. I
SCANDINAVIAN CLASSIC METAL- There was a time in Scandinavia when Heavy Metal was thought of as something suspect and immature.
Nevertheless, there were loads of both fans and great unsigned bands, but an ignorant Scandinavian music industry. Until Boss would record and release this truly classic piece of vinyl, for there were only vinyl in those days of 1984.
Five Scandinavian bands, each representing a slightly different sound as style. Those hard hitters OZ were famous for their explosive and graphic stage shows, here that energy is successively captured in two powerful tracks ”Fire in the Brain” and ”Search Lights”.
This metal compilation would also break it for those Boogie rockers TRASH, for it had them eventually ending up on the legendary Atlantic label. Here though, they tell us to ”Watch Out” as well as there seems to be ”No More Rock Tonight”.
Representing the more British sound and style of that era are SPITFIRE also making their very first recording on this release with ”Eyes of the Storm” and ”Crazy Living”.
From the other side of the Baltic came ZERO NINE representing the more Deep Purple-ish sound and style of the early 70’s with their ”Under the Sun” and ”Walk Away”. Making their very first proper studio session and here appearing for the first time on a record are today legendary pioneers of Death Metal, none others than BATHORY. Two classic tracks which were later re-recorded in slightly different versions for their first and second albums. Here are the original versions of ”Sacrifice” and ”The Return of the Darkness and Evil”, indeed hard-to-get-by stuff for all BATHORY fans out there.
Five great bands each represented with two tracks.
A classic cover and a piece of history in itself.
